The View Hosts Can't Understand Why a Father Would Divorce the Woman Who Strangled His Three Kids

Patrick Clancy held his eight-month-old son Callan in a hospital bed for four days before the boy died. Callan's siblings — five-year-old Cora and three-year-old Dawson — were already gone, strangled with exercise bands by their mother, Lindsay Clancy, in January 2023. Patrick filed for divorce, moved to New York City, married a doctor named Rachel Danis in April 2026, and sat down with 60 Minutes on September 21 to talk about it.

Sara Haines watched that interview and came away bothered — not by the dead children, but by the divorce.

The View co-host spent a segment on September 22 questioning how Patrick could move on. "How did the marital love end so quickly when you admit openly your wife got sick?" Haines asked, her voice cracking. "In sickness and in health." She noted that Lindsay's mother, mother-in-law, sister, and best friend all showed up for Lindsay in court. The implication was clear: Patrick should have, too.

"I would hope that my husband wouldn't sit there and just move right along and like not care," Haines added.

Move right along. The man buried three children under the age of six.

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin piled on from a different angle, pointing out that Patrick had left Lindsay alone for over thirty minutes before the killings. She noted Lindsay "repeatedly sought help from systems that failed her." The postpartum psychosis framing — Lindsay as the real victim of a broken mental health system — was doing exactly the work it was designed to do.

Sunny Hostin steered the conversation toward whether it bothered Haines that Patrick had already remarried. As reported by NewsBusters' Nicholas Fondacaro, Hostin also used the segment to brag about her own experience as a holdout juror on a case that saved a defendant from conviction — an odd flex in a conversation about a woman who killed three kids.

The trial itself ended in a mistrial on September 4, when Judge William Sullivan declared the jury deadlocked at 11-1. Eleven jurors found Lindsay not criminally responsible. One held out for conviction. Prosecutors argued she knew exactly what she was doing. The defense said postpartum psychosis made her unable to understand her actions.

Patrick told 60 Minutes that Lindsay described the murders to him as "like a dream." She remembered them "much in the way you would remember a dream after waking up." She never asked for his forgiveness.

"I got to hold him. I got to lay down next to him. And he died in my arms," Patrick said of Callan's final hours.

He also addressed the conspiracy theories and online attacks that followed his decision to remarry. "It's deeply harmful to the legacy of my children," he said. "After seeing lie after lie after lie, they start to believe it."

He met Rachel Danis through a running club in New York in January 2024. She's a doctor. They married in April 2026. He told 60 Minutes they're starting a family. He also said there was a time he "didn't think I would live to see my 35th birthday."

The same crowd that spent years telling women to divorce their MAGA husbands — Townhall's Amy Curtis flagged this irony immediately — now finds it unconscionable that a man would divorce a wife who murdered his children. The "in sickness and in health" standard apparently only runs one direction.

Three children strangled with exercise bands. A father who held his dying infant for four days. A man who rebuilt a life from the wreckage.

The View looked at that story and found the villain. It was the dad.
